THE PROFESSIONAL TENNIS
REGISTRY (PTR)
Founded in 1976 by Dennis Van Der Meer, the PTR is a non-profit
organization that has over 12,000 members in 120 countries - with
over 400 members in Southeast Asia. The PTR's mission is to provide
education, international certification and related services to
tennis teaching professionals. The PTR has conducted Tennis Teacher
Workshops worldwide and currently assists tennis teaching professionals
in upgrading their standard of instruction and enhancing their
career development.
1. TEACHING ESSENTIALS
CERTIFICATION WORKSHOP
This on-court workshop demonstrates fundamental group teaching techniques.
Details of the serve, forehand and backhand group lessons are demonstrated
as part of a Standard Method of Instruction. Emphasis is placed
on the development of biomechanically-sound strokes. The fundamentals
of teaching group lessons will be presented. The workshop prepares
PTR members for the five-part certification exam on Day 3. Participants
will have the opportunity to "practice" teaching the strokes.
This workshop is the industry leader in group-instruction and provides
those who successfully pass the exam with an internationally recognized
tennis teaching certification (PTR Instructor's Manual included).

2. CARDIO
TENNIS WORKSHOP
Cardio Tennis is a new workshop featuring drills to give players
of all abilities an ultimate, high energy workout. The workshop
will be led by PTR Master Professional and Clinician, Dr.
Louie Cap. Cardio Tennis includes a warm-up, cardio
workout, and cool down phases. Cardio Tennis can be a new way
to get your students to get into shape and burn calories. The
programs and drills will gear all players to get a great cardio
workout while improving skills. A brand new workshop not to be
missed!
Date: December 8, 2007 (8am-12pm) Cost: Certification
participants – FREE!

THE PRESENTER
 Dr. Louie Cap,
PTR Master Professional & Clinician, is a senior staff
professional at the Van Der Meer Tennis Center in Hilton Head Island,
South Carolina, USA. Dr. Cap conducts certification workshops as
well as continuing education workshops for the PTR throughout the
world. A former member of the Czech Davis Cup Team, Dr. Cap also
played on the European Tennis Tour in the 1960s. He has been a chartered
member of the PTR since 1976 and was also the 1993 PTR Pro of the
Year. Dr. Cap also has a Ph.D. in nuclear physics. Dr. Cap will be
assisted by PTR SE Asia Director, Gary
Tan.
THE ORGANIZER
Savitar Pte Ltd is a sports management company
based in Singapore that manages a Southeast Asian representative office
on behalf of the PTR. With extensive experience in the tennis industry
both on and off the court, Savitar professionally manage sports marketing
and instructional programs in Singapore and the region. Savitar's
Director of Tennis and PTR International Tester, Gary
Tan, will be the workshop coordinator.
